Valentine's Fondue Board (with mini pound cakes)
It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and I’m celebrating with the most delicious Valentine’s Fondue Board! It’s a chocolate lovers dream!
I’m one of those people that loveeee Valentine’s Day. It’s one of my favorite holidays, and I look forward to it every year!
Daniel and I stayed in last year and made a fancy dinner with chocolate fondue for dessert, and I’ve been thinking about it every since. I wanted to create an easy fondue recipe so we could do it again! This recipe is so simple to make, and it’s the most fun dessert.
I love boards like this because you can add whatever you want! Strawberries, bananas, raspberries, apples, pound cake, pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, brownies, and so much more!
I used this mini heart cake/donut pan, but you can make this pound cake recipe is a mini cupcake pan, loaf pan or any donut pan.

Chocolate Fondue
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups (10 ounces) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (dark or semi-sweet)
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- Dipping ingredients: Strawberries, raspberries, bananas, pound cake, pretzels, etc.
Instructions
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate with the milk, heavy cream and salt, and stir constantly until melted and smooth. If it's too thick, add a little bit more milk or heavy cream for a thinner consistency.
- Pour the mixture into a fondue pot or bowl and serve warm with the dipping options. If not using right away, store in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave or in a saucepan until warm.
Mini Pound Cakes
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- Powdered sugar for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a mini donut pan or loaf pan.
- In a bowl, beat together the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and beat to combine.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until almost all combined, and then stir in the milk until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake until set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. It will be different baking times depending on what pan you use.
- Remove cakes from the pan, and let cool completely on a wire rack. If using, dip each cake into a bowl of powdered sugar and shake off the excess. Enjoy!
